Description: A three page description of an imaginary film from a particular non-US country after 1960. Give it a specific date and title. The film can be classic or quickly, conventional or iconoclastic, animated or live-action, short or long, soothing or controversial, of any genre. it’s completely up to you. The description will contain:
the year it was made- must be a specific year
a simple, very short recounting of its plot
descriptions of the way lighting, music, narration, acting, sound effects, cameraqork or other techniques are used in it( name actual staffpeople-actors, directors, writers-if you like). You should choose one or two of these technique categories, not writer about every one of them.
an explanation of how the film reflects the time in which it was made
a summary of what the critics though of it and why

You could spend approximately one page apiece on each item above, keeping the plot summary shorter than the other items. Use the PAST tense, talking about the film as if you were a film historian who’s done a lot of historical research about it. A plot synopsis, of course, requires the present tense.

You see that this assignment is difficult because you must think up a whole film instead of commenting on one that already exists. You’ll be graded favorably on your knowledge of what was expected, denied, approved, punished and applauded during the era of that country’s cinema you choose-as well as your imagination of what might have been. Be imaginative, but always situate your film plausibly in the year in which it was made. Describe the film so vividly and realistically that i will stop and think. Maybe this film really existed.

Type 12-point type, double-space, proofread word by word(not just spellchecked). Identify the film title/year at the beginning of the essay; Italicize title(no quotation marks or underling.) Any borrowed ideas or words must be sourced. keep a copy for yourself. No thesis/ introduction feedback given.
