review of lit.

review of literature – first draft . I will put in the general criteria for a literature review because later you will complete it . but now the most important thing is to mention the writing methods and focus on three of them you can choose three of these : either controlled composition ,process approach, current traditional method, writing by the use of translation
analyse each, what is it, find any literature and studies about it or studies used it, notify studies in Arab world or as ESL studies , how is it important ,how it will effect my research , if not : WHY and put in my argument, find gaps if possible and how this is related to my study.

1- Define or identify the general topic, issue, or area of concern.
2- Point out overall trends in what has been published about the topic; or conflicts in theory, methodology, evidence, and conclusions; or gaps in research and scholarship.
3- state why certain literature is or is not included .
4- make a review of all the existing methods to teach writing skills.
5- analyze each, how is it important or how it will affect my research. if not ,i need to mention why is it inappropriate .
6- notify if any research has been done using each method as an ESL . especially in the Arab world. Or in ESL culture
7- Put in my argument
8- Use subheadings.

establish your reason(s) for reviewing the literature or explain the criteria to be used in analysing and comparing literature and the organization
of the review .

Group research studies and other types of literature (reviews, theoretical articles, case studies, etc.) according to common denominators such as qualitative versus quantitative approaches, specific purpose or objective, chronology, etc.
Summarise individual studies or articles with as much or as little detail as each merits according to its comparative importance in the literature.

Summarise major contributions of significant studies and articles to the body of knowledge under review, maintaining the focus established in the introduction.
Evaluate the current “state of the art” for the body of knowledge reviewed, pointing out major methodological flaws or gaps in research, inconsistencies in theory and findings, and areas or issues pertinent to future study.
Conclude by providing some insight into the relationship between the central topic of the literature review and a larger area of study .
