Background Information
You are the employed in the HR Division in your organisation and have been directed by upper Management to investigate its staff satisfaction levels, performance gaps/issues and ways to improve the organisation and achieve its goals. The organisation wants you to focus on three key areas:
o ensure employees concerns are being heard
o assist employees to perform their jobs successfully
o ensure that managers relate to and meet the needs of employees.
a) Develop a set of questions to refer to in an well structured interview
b) Using the set of questions, record an interview (by note taking) with two different staff members (at different times approx 30 minutes each) in relation to the above 3 key areas. (Note: You will need approval from the client “ owner/senior manager to allow staff to consult with you). After the interview ask the two staff members to evaluate your ability to interview to the client.
c) Develop KPI s (Key Performance Indicators) for the organisation that you can measure the above three areas based on the following:
Training Support
Proactive team work
Proactive and supportive work culture
Work challenges
Reward for productivity
Career progression
Work Flexibility
Note: (if the organisation already has KPI s then measure those KPI s against the targets set by the organisation). Responses you receive will be measured against these set of KPI s.
d) A formal report to analyse and outlining your findings (approximately 1000 words)
e) Service Delivery Evaluation: It is now one week after your interview with the 2 staff members you are seeking feedback from your client in relation to your investigation/interview into staff culture and performance.
You are required to contact the client and discuss the interview you conducted with the two staff members and ask the client to summarise your performance and rate:(i) your approach and attitude during the interview, (ii) your ability to interview the staff, (iii) the types of questions used, (iv) your ability to record and interpret the answers and seek clarification on the three key areas and (v) your ability to time-manage the interview.
You are to provide a summary of the client s feedback (approximately 250 words).
