THIS IS THE THREE QUESTIONS WHICH WE HAVE TO ANSWER:
1. What is the difference between performance management and performance appraisal?
2. What are the characteristics of an unsuccessful versus a successful performance management system?
3. What are some common errors and how can they be eliminated?
You must use a minimum of 6 references from various sources. At least 3 references should be peer reviewed journal articles.
This is some advice from our teacher I hope will help you.
i. Note that the major difference between PM and PA is that PM is Macro (organisation) and PA is Micro (individual).
ii. In question 2 with PM look at the issues of communication, equity, training and development trust autonomy ect. ( as some possible examples) as positive for a successful PM system and negative for an unsuccessful system.
iii. Common errors are those such as recency halo etc.
