Interview a pastor

Assignment, attach your notes (approximately 4 pages: 2 pages for the observation and 2 pages for the interview) in a new DB thread. Also, submit an outline/bullet point form of both sets of notes in the Discussion Board (type or paste them) and provide a twofold summary conclusion: a) Describe how the 5 essential activities were implemented, and b) Reflect upon the “Lessons I have learned about leadership for discipleship and how they will affect my leadership practices.” The summary conclusion should be about 400 words.

Attend, observe, and take notes on the discipleship efforts of an experienced minister (minimum of 5 years in organized ministry) who regularly participates in making disciples.

Note particularly: is this leader’s behavior:
1) transactive or transformative?
2) patterned after the suggested metamodel and practices (Mitchell: chs. 2 – 4)?
3) supportive of disciple-making?
4) reproducible?

Interview the minister, and take notes, inquiring about the following:

1) How “disciple” or “discipleship” is defined.
2) How disciples are made (strategies, methods, materials used, etc.).
3) How success is determined.
4) What advice would an emerging (just getting started) minister need?
