Activity Five:

Students should choose one of the following and write 250 words addressing the issue.

1) Briefly outline the four levels of oppression Dudgeon (2008) reports in chapter 5 of the above text that Indigenous Australian women have been or are still subjected to.

2)The rationale for developing a cultural competence assessment process is based on the knowledge that existing health services for Indigenous Australians have not been successful. In order to maintain cultural security and improve health outcomes what three areas within the health service need to be focussed on?
